Farmer Boys launches annual Helping Hand fundraiser

September 6, 2011

Riverside, Calif.-based Farmer Boys launched its 11th Annual Give a Helping Hand fundraiser this week, which will continue through Oct. 2.

The fundraiser benefits the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, which serves more than 1.2 million children and is the only Level 1 Regional Trauma Center covering Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo and Mono counties in California.

Throughout the fundraiser, Farmer Boys guests will be invited to make a donation by "purchasing" a paper Lion Heart icon for $1 or more. Lion Heart icons commemorating each donation will be displayed in Farmer Boys restaurants to recognize the generosity of the community.

Every Farmer Boys guest who makes a donation during the fundraiser timeframe will receive a coupon for 20 percent off any single purchase of $5 or more before Dec. 31.

"Giving back to the neighborhoods and communities we serve is a hallmark of the Farmer Boys brand that we have proudly upheld over the past 30 years," said Ken Clark, president and COO of Farmer Boys. "We have set a goal of raising $30,000 for the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital over the next four weeks -- dollars that this renowned facility can use to further the critical care it provides local children in need."

Since 2000, Farmer Boys and its guests have raised more than $260,000 for the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. Farmer Boys currently operates 68 restaurants located in five counties across Southern California and in Nevada.
