A Sonic Drive-In in Homestead, Fla., will soon be the only restaurant in the 3,500-unit chain to serve beer and wine. According to the Miami Herald, Homestead City Council members voted to approve the license last week.
This specific Sonic opened about a month ago, and also includes an artificial beach, beach-themed outdoor seating area and flatscreen TVs hanging outside.
Drew Ritger, Sonic's vice president of business analysis and development, told the Miami Herald that the company only plans on serving alcohol at this specific location.
Employees will undergo special training to service the alcohol, only available in the patio area, and the restaurant will receive quarterly inspections.
