Cincinnati Bengals fans can now show their pride while enjoying their favorite beverage. Gold Star Chili is commemorating the 2010 football season with a new collectible glass.
Although the Cincinnati-based company has offered Bengals glasses before, this year’s glasses are designed by C.F. Payne, a nationally-recognized artist, who will “create an original illustration that portrays the devotion and loyalty of Cincinnati Bengals fans,” according to a company press release.
“The best way to describe this year’s Bengals promotion is pure Cincinnati and proud of it,” said Charlie Howard director of marketing for Gold Star Chili. “Our hometown food and our hometown team commemorated by a famous hometown artist; what better way celebrate the football season with a uniquely Cincinnati flavor?”
Gold Star Chili and Payne have a four-year agreement which calls for a new glass every year through 2013. Each glass will depict the true essence of being a Bengals fan, including rituals such as tailgating and other activities that take place on game day.
The first glass in the series is entitled 2010 Tribute To Cincinnati Bengals Fans – Tailgating.
Glasses will be on sale at Gold Star Chili restaurants starting Sept. 7. The glasses will be sold for $2.99 with any food or beverage purchase, and for $3.99 as a stand-alone purchase. Gold Star has dubbed this year’s glass, formerly known as the Bengals collector’s glass, MuchoDrinko.
In addition to the new glasses, Gold Star Chili will offer $12.99 coney crates and its specially created 20 oz. Orange Blitz milkshakes for $2.99. Gold Star will also begin selling “grab & go” Busken brand tiger striped iced cookies throughout the Bengals 2010 season.
To gear up for next season, Gold Star is looking for fans to be featured for next year’s theme, Fans in the Stands. The company is hosting an online contest by having fans send in photos of them in Bengals attire during the 2010 season. For more details, visit www.goldstarchili.com.
