Golden Chick signs major deal for Houston area

Golden Chick has signed a deal with the president and owner of WTI Capital Llc. James Griffis, that gives him the right to 55 Golden Chick locations in the Houston DMA. Griffis also owns and operates two locations of the chicken QSR in in West Texas and has a development agreement for 33 more in that area. WTI-GC, LP is an affiliate company that owns and operates its Golden Chick restaurants, a news release said.

"James has been a great addition to our franchisee family who runs two highly successful Golden Chick restaurants in West Texas and we could not be more proud to announce that he will now be a major part of our expansion in the Houston market," Golden Chick President Jim Stevens, in the release. 

"Along with his COO Scott Stevenson, James is scaling and will now own the rights to an additional 55 Golden Chick locations helping us get closer to our goal of 500 restaurants by 2030."

The company currently operates more than 180 stores operating in Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Florida.
