Colorado-based Good Times Restaurants Inc. has just completed its fifth year of fundraising efforts for the Juvenile Diabetes Reserach Foundation (JDRF), which raises money and awareness to fight type 1 diabetes (T1D) worldwide.
Good Times, in partnership with Pepsi Cola, created and sold a coupon book containing multiple offers on food and drinks at restaurants throughout the chain. This season, more than $42,000 was raised, bringing the company's five-year total to more than $231,000 for the organization.
"The coupon books sold for just $1 each and provided over 300,000 coupons for our generous (and hungry) customers to enjoy great deals on popular menu items," said Boyd Hoback, president of Good Times. "Good Times is honored to assist JDRF in finding a cure for type 1 diabetes 'one bite at a time.'"
Since 1970, JDRF has awarded more than $1.6 billion to fund diabetes research. In Colorado, JDRF annually funds more than $3 million in research.
Good Times currently operates and franchises 43 restaurants.
