Grab your grog! Talk Like a Pirate Day is back at Long John Silver's

That favorite day of sea- and seafood-lovers everywhere — Talk Like a Pirate Day — is Saturday, and the nation's largest fast food seafood chain is hoisting the Jolly Roger and the promotions in preparation. According to a news release, on that day customers who talk like a pirate will earn a free piece of fish, but those who walk like a pirate really rake it in.

The brand said that any customers who walks in dressed the part of those oceanic ne'er-do-wells will win themselves a free two-piece fish basket. And not forgetting that today's pirate is digitally astute, the brand will award a digital gift card to anyone who posts a photo or video of themselves in full pirate regalia, while tagging Long John Silver's on their public account via Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

And of course, those who order in markets with delivery through DoorDash, UberEATS, Postmates and GrubHub, not only get the service free Saturday, but DoorDash users may end up with a "'fintastic' surprise with their meal."

"Our mission is to bring a unique seafood experience to everyone," CMO Stephanie Mattingly said in the release. "Allowing our guests to feast and participate in the fun in store or at home emphasizes our commitment to the well-being of our guests and crew members."

Talk Like a Pirate Day also kicks off Long John Silver's annual fundraising campaign to benefit the American Cancer Society. For every gift card purchase of $20 or more, Long John Silver's will make a donation to the nonprofit, and guests can make additional personal donations at checkout through Nov. 1.

The Louisville, Kentucky-based brand has more than 700 restaurants nationwide.
