HME debuts sound management system for drive-thrus

HME has introduced the new ion IQ, a digital drive-thru systemthat bundles five cutting-edge, sound-enhancing technologies into one package. HME's ion IQ features a total sound management system that simultaneously improves the customer and employee experience.
The new system features include:
- Automatic Noise Control (ANC), an industry first which dramatically reduces outside ambient noise in drive-thru headsets
- Enhanced digital noise and echo cancellation
- Voice-optimized microphone that levels and clarifies voices for easier-to-understand communication
- Advanced speaker system that reduces distortion
- Easy-to-use digital tuning and controls
HME ion IQ's large format digital display and intuitive menus are designed to make drive-thru managementeasier than ever for QSR operators. Remote access capabilities allow managers to change system settings and troubleshoot multiple locations from virtually anywhere — the base station, a back office PC, and at home over the Internet.
Additionally, HME ion IQ'scustomer greeter function can sequence and schedule up to 12 customer greetings throughout the day, to promote specials and improve check averages.
"What excites us about ion IQ is its capability to go beyond just clear, digital sound," vice president of marketing and business development Daren Haas said in a news release. "This is a total package. It not only improves drive-thru communication, but communication and management efficiency throughout the entire operation.
Improving drive-thru communication is essential to improving efficiencies, Haas told QSRweb.com.
"They get the order right the first time" because drive-thru staff and customers can clearly hear each other, he said. "That means they get orders more quickly, with more cars through in the peak period. If you can shave three-to-five seconds off per car, you can get your payback in less than a year" with digital drive-thru communication systems.
