The IRS said this year that tax refunds are averaging nearly 9 percent lower than the previous year, but Hot Dog on a Stick is helping taxpayers bite back this year with free dogs on the tax filing deadline day of April 15.
The QSR said in a news release that there are absolutely no loopholes in its offer of a free original turkey or veggie dog for any customer on April 15. And unlike taxes, the chain said no proof of completed taxes paperwork or purchase is required to get hold of a free dog; just show up at one of the brand's locations.
"Leave it to Hot Dog on a Stick to take a somewhat bummer of a day and turn it upside down," Hot Dog on a Stick Executive Vice President Steve Thomas, said in the release.
The chain — born in a beachfront Santa Monica store in 1946 — now has 70 locations worldwide.
