'Hungry Buddy' promises to make dining alone a more engaging experience

The experience of dining alone is about to change, at least for patrons of Jack In The Box.

The fast food enterprise is launching a unique video feature in which lone diners can choose a '‘buddy' to share lunch time with and possibly enjoy the current two breakfast croissant for $4 offer.

"Even if you share two croissants with yourself, it doesn't mean you should eat by yourself," is the marketing slogan for the Hungry Buddy marketing campaign.

Diners can log onto the Hungry Buddyarea on the company's website and choose one of three buddies who will talk for three minutes nonstop. The "buddies" include a workout guy, a "muscle head," who talks about working out, a comic book nerd/awkward childhood friend character and a crazy ex-girlfriend. The latter one could potentially decrease one's appetite.
