Irish Beef lassos Tucson Arby's stores

Irish Beef, a Dallas-based restaurant management and investment company, has acquired eight Tucson-area Arby’s locations from Cardinal RB Arizona LLC, with plans to add four more sites there in the next three years, a news release said. 

Irish Beef has already begun remodeling the existing restaurants to the brand's new design that features a more open kitchen along with menu enhancements.  Arby’s veteran, Jami Salyer, is overseeing Irish Beef's Tucson restaurant operations, which also include the addition of 100 new staff. 

The first of the new locations opens later this year and at least two of the current locations will be remodeled by year's end. Arby's now eschews the term QSR when categorizing its brand, instead referring to the restaurant by a trademarked term, known as "fast crafted." The brand pins this more exclusively perceived membership on its "premium" meat offering, like the very un-QSR-like smoked brisket, Angus steak, corned beef, roast turkey, pepper bacon, and of course, roast beef.
