Jack in the Box hosting holiday fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters

Jack in the Box restaurants today launched a holiday fundraiser benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters. For $1, plus tax, guests may purchase a limited-edition Nutcracker Jack ornament with net proceeds benefiting the youth-mentoring organization.

The ornaments are available at participating Jack in the Box restaurants while supplies last.

The Nutcracker Jack ornament marks the 120th anniversary of Tchaikovsky's "March of the Toy Soldiers" as part of the Nutcracker Ballet. Rosy cheeked and wearing a red shako adorned with decorative bronze lacing, the Nutcracker Jack ornament is pre-drilled on the bottom and fashioned with a braided loop on top, offering flexibility for display on a vehicle antenna or Christmas tree.

This is the fifth year that Jack in the Box has sold a limited-edition promotional item to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters. The previous promotions raised a combined total of more than $1.2 million for the organization.

Holiday shakes return to menu

Jack in the Box restaurants are also now offering their perennial Pumpkin Pie and Egg Nog Shakes.

"Pumpkin pie and egg nog are two of the most popular and familiar treats of the holidays, and our Pumpkin Pie and Egg Nog Shakes have been seasonal favorites of our guests for several years," said Bobby Brown, marketing manager for Jack in the Box. "The shakes are rich and thick and pack a lot of flavor. But they're only available for a limited time, so don't wait too long to begin celebrating the season."

The Pumpkin Pie and Egg Nog Shakes are available in regular (16 oz.) and large (24 oz.) sizes and are served with whipped topping and a Maraschino cherry on top. Other shake flavors include Oreo Cookie, Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate.
