Jack in the Box intros chicken, dessert items

October 27, 2008

SAN DIEGO — Jack in the Box has added several items to its menu, including a chicken sandwich, a chicken biscuit and a dessert item, the company announced.

The two chicken products, available primarily in Jack in the Box restaurants in the central and southeastern United States, feature the chain's new Homestyle Chicken Fillet, which has a buttery, crispy coating.

The Homestyle Ranch Chicken Club features the chicken fillet on a toasted bakery-style bun with bacon, Swiss-style cheese, green leaf lettuce and sliced tomato topped with ranch sauce. The Breakfast Homestyle Chicken Biscuit features a chicken fillet on a warm buttermilk biscuit.
The Homestyle Ranch Chicken Club and Breakfast Homestyle Chicken Biscuit are available for the suggested prices of $4.29 and $2.99, respectively, at all participating Jack in the Box restaurants. Both products are served all day. Prices may vary.

Jack's new dessert offering follows a growing trend in the restaurant industry toward smaller treats. Mini Churros, which are based on the classic Latin-style treat, are crunchy, bite-sized pastries with a cinnamon sugar filling. Mini Churros are available for the suggested prices of $1.00 for five churros and $1.89 for 10 churros, at all participating Jack in the Box restaurants. Prices may vary by market/restaurant.
