Jack in the Box raises $23K for Big Brothers Big Sisters

October 30, 2012

The Jack in the Box Foundation recently held its annual bowl-a-thon benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County. Dubbed "Boo-la-thon 2012" the pre-Halloween event attracted teams of costumed bowlers who raised $23,000 for the youth-mentoring agency.

Nearly 160 Jack in the Box employees, family members and friends participated in the event, along with representatives from Big Brothers Big Sisters. The donation will enable Big Brothers Big Sisters to expand a local mentoring program called Operation Bigs.

"Operation Bigs provides mentors to kids with a parent in the military, including a deployed parent," said Paul Palmer president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County. "Jack in the Box is a long-time supporter of military families and helped us launch Operation Bigs in 2004 at Camp Pendleton. Funds raised during its annual bowl-a-thon have enabled us to expand Operation Bigs to even more military families living in areas of San Diego."
