A federal judge in Fort Lauderdale, Florida has ruled that seven plaintiffs failed to show "reasonable" customers at Burger King were duped into paying more for Impossible Whoppers, because they thought the plant-based patties had been cooked on different grills than those used to cook meat at the chain's stores, according to Fox Business report.

Vegans and other individuals refrain from eating products that might include animal fat or meat, which could potentially occur if separate grills were not used.

U.S. District Judge Raag Singhal dismissed the suit, stating plaintiffs didn't ask about Burger King's cooking process for the patties, nor did they ask for something else that would satisfy the plaintiff's dietary choices. The judge also found that company's ads never promised to cook the plant-based sandwiches on separate equipment, free from meat.

"Burger King promised a non-meat patty and delivered," Singhal wrote.

The judge also denied the plaintiff's request to form a class action in the case.
