An event invite mysteriously mentions there is a transformation soon to take place within the KFC food strategy.

KFC is reportedly getting ready to make a big splash, what it calls a "ttransformational announcement,"” that promises to be the top fast food story of the year. At an upcoming event, KFC supposedly will provide the media with a "KFC lunch like never tasted," and a surprise guest as well as an appearance of KFC's top chef.

But just what that lunch will feature is unknown, according to an Entrepreneur report.

Could it be something snazzier than red buns debuted this week by competitor Burger King?

Entrepreneur, in a tongue and cheek post, notes it may be the Colonel announcing self-driving buckets or virtual reality headset capability allowing diners to stay in a KF throughout their day.

"The Colonel, with his gentle Southern drawl, would comfort us, and welcome us to our new lives," stated the report, noting past KFC debuts haven’t taken the industry, or the consumer, by storm.

"But alas, we still hold out hope for real innovation, for someone to solve fried chicken problems that no one else has had the courage to address. That is, until now," writes Entrepreneur.
