KFC launches new fast casual concept in Canada

December 3, 2013

A few months after debuting its fast casual concept in the U.S. — KFC Eleven — KFC has launched a new brand in Canada as well, called Select.

According to the Financial Post, the Select restaurant was created to attract Millennial consumers and will debut in Toronto this month.

Similar to KFC's fast casual concept in the U.S., the Select menu will include a focus on chicken, with four types of fried chicken burgers and chicken fingers. There will also be a Mexican flair, with rice bowls and grilled chicken burritos served with extras such as guacamole and mango salsa.

From the story:

"We are exploring how to move forward with the brand, especially here in Canada," KFC Canada's GM Nicolas Burquier told the Financial Post. "We have 60 years of history in this market with a very strong team and loyalty from our consumer base. But going through what is next for KFC in the coming years, how do we appeal not only to the next generation of customers, but also a younger customer base who do not have access to our brand."
