KFC named in a Houston location's $10M sexual victimization suit

December 7, 2016

KFC Corporation is named in a $10 million lawsuit claiming that a manager at a North Harris County store in Houston, Texas, repeatedly sexually victimized a 16-year-old employee, while other managers allegedly covered it up.

The suit was made public in a television news story on Houston's KPRC. It alleges that the acts occurred as many as 100 times in numerous area locations. In fact, the plaintiff's attorney, Benjamin Hall told the television station that the alleged sexual acts occurred in just about "any place that had a surface," including nearby hotels, inside cars and even behind a dumpster.

The suit also claims that other managers at the store, "aided and abetted in his wrongful conduct." Hall told the TV station that "there was a private pact … between the managers that covered up, which they did because other managers were engaging in the same conduct, having sex with 16-year-olds and 17-year-olds."

The attorney claims the Harris County Sheriff has been asked to investigate the matter. A statement released from KFC's corporate offfices in Louisville to QSRweb.com said, "At KFC, we go to great lengths to create a safe work environment for our employees. While we cannot comment on pending litigation, the manager accused in this case has not been a KFC employee for some time."
