KFC plans to double Russian presence by 2015

September 5, 2011

Yum! Brands' KFC expects to grow its footprint in Russia to 300 outlets by 2015, a goal that would call for the opening of 30 to 40 restaurants per year.

According to Reuters, KFC Russian sales have been increasing by more than 20 percent annually.

Currently, there are 164 KFC restaurants in Russia, most of which (114) are franchised.

The Russian quick-service market is ripe for growth thanks to a rebounding economy and large population of meat eaters. Burger King and Wendy's have both made their debut in the country within the past year and a half.
