Kentucky Fried Chicken is sending 1 million pieces of chicken to its more than 4,000 locations nationwide to help those restaurants feed those in need during the pandemic, a news release said. Each location and its operator can choose how to prep and allot the chicken the company is providing for these uses, which is being shipped cost-free to restaurants nationally.

The brand said that over the last several weeks, the donations already being made by its franchisees to local people and organizations in need during the pandemic has prompted it to act as well.

"Seeing our franchisees coming together and helping their neighbors during this crisis has inspired us to do more," said Kevin Hochman, president, KFC U.S., in a news release. KFC has also made the following commitments to support its people, communities and franchisees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company has also added tamper-evident seals on orders and, beginning tomorrow, is adding a larger $30 Fill Up menu item for big appetites and families.
