KFC UK chicken issue now rectified

July 2, 2018

Five months after a chicken delivery issue that left many English KFC stores shuttered for several days, the brand again experienced closures in that country, that originally were attributed to "delivery issues." However, this afternoon, a KFC spokesperson said all stores are open again, adding, "A planned system update the weekend before last created delivery delays in some areas last week, but this is now resolved, and all restaurants are back to service as usual."

This weekend, Scottish national newspaper, The Scotsman, and other British media said that several stores in Southwest England closed Saturday due to the delivery problems. Stores affected included locations in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, while closures were also reported in Exeter, Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall and Bodmin.

Over the weekend, a KFC spokesperson told that newspaper that, "We share his frustrations as we are not open this evening because we are waiting on a delivery."

In February, mass closures in the U.K. were attributed to a new distributor.
