Krispy Kreme hires new CEO

CHICAGO — Krispy Kreme named Daryl Brewster president and chief executive officer March 7. Brewster most recently served as president of Kraft Foods' North America Snacks and Cereals sector. He succeeds Stephen Cooper, who served as interim CEO since January 2005. Brewster was also named a director. Cooper will remain with the Winston-Salem, N.C., doughnut seller during an interim transition period, serving as chief restructuring officer, according to a news release.
