To celebrate the launch of its new signature coffee line, Krispy Kreme has embarked upon a "Worthy" Tour, delivering sample packs of coffee and Original Glazed doughnuts to nominated charities and organizations. The name of the tour coincides with the coffee line's marketing tagline "Worthy of our Doughnuts."
The tour kicked off this week at Atlanta Motor Speedways' AdvoCare 500, which raises money for Speedway Children's Charities.
Once a month in October, November and December, the Krispy Kreme Worthy tour will visit "worthy" organizations or charities and host a celebration. Nominations are being accepted via Krispy Kreme's Facebook page.
"Giving back to the communities we serve has long been a part of what the Krispy Kreme experience is all about," said Dwayne Chambers, Krispy Kreme's chief marketing officer. "Our history helping non-profit organizations is at the core of the Krispy Kreme Worthy Tour. Working with our social media fans and using proven tools like our 55-year-old fundraising program, we can make a significant difference in a lot of lives."
Also, Krispy Kreme will host a grand opening celebration at its newest unit on Northampton Boulevard in Virginia Beach, Va.
Beginning at 5 a.m. Sept. 13, when the "Hot Doughnuts Now" sign will be turned on, and throughout the day, guests will sample doughnuts and coffee.
The first customer in line that day will receive a free dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts every week for a year and a secret prize. The following 99 customers will receive free doughnuts every month for one year. The first 100 people will also receive commemorative Krispy Kreme Virginia Beach T-shirts.
The 2,000-square-foot Virginia Beach Neighborhood Shop will also include a drive-thru.
