February 20, 2012

At 8 a.m. on Feb. 23, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will launch its 75th birthday celebrations with the revealing of a surprise for its fans, as well as the unveiling of the newly branded No. 2 Krispy Kreme Race Car at the International Speedway Boulevard location in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Krispy Kreme announced its partnership with Coulter Motorsports and sponsorship of Gray Gaulding on Feb. 8.

In addition to racing No. 2 in 16 Super Late Model South Races, Gray and the car will make several personal appearances at Krispy Kreme Shops and events in the Southeast.

"We love the youthful spirit, humility, fun, respect and focus Gray shows as he continues to pursue his dreams," said Dwayne Chambers, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme. "We believe he can be an inspiration to people young and old about daring to dream and reaching those dreams. Ultimately, we feel that Gray will do a great job of representing the brand and communicating our purpose of touching and enhancing lives through the joy that is Krispy Kreme."

Gaulding was a developmental driver with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick's company in 2011.

Krispy Kreme's official birthday is July 13.
