If you're a lover of all things outer space, you already know that NASA is landing a rover Thursday on Mars for the first time since the rover, "Curiousity," bounced across the red planet's surface nine years ago. To celebrate "Perseverance's," trip to Mars, Krispy Kreme has created a doughnut resembling the crimson planet, according to a news release.

The brand's one-day LTO is dipped in caramel, filled with chocolate cream and emblazoned with a swirl to look more Mars-like. The confection is sprinkled with chocolate cookie crumbs as well, standing in for a swoosh of that famous Martian dust.

Of course, Perseverance will carry nearly 11 million names of people who submitted their monikers to NASA in its special, "Send Your Name to Mars" campaign. Krispy Kreme will give those customers a free Mars doughnut if they show their "boarding passes" when ordering.

Krispy Kreme is based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and has 1,400 stores systemwide.
