Krystal introduces new stuffing recipe for holidays

Krystal is releasing its new Thanksgiving stuffing recipe for the holidays.

Krystal is releasing its Thanksgiving stuffing recipe for the holidays. The once-secret stuffing recipe, featuring the company's burgers, was officially released last year on limited-edition steamer pack boxes, and was such a hit that The Krystal Company is bringing it back for this holiday season, according to a company press release.

"Stuffing recipes are one in a million nowadays," said Brandon Freeman, manager of research and development for the Krystal Company. "But this stuffing recipe featuring Krystal burgers is a unique spin on a classic recipe that we think is more delicious than the original!"

To create the stuffing recipe, guests must purchase one steamer pack of 24 Krystals. The recipe serves 10 to 15 people and requires 20 of the square burgers.

The stuffing recipe is as follows:

Step one:

Combine the following ingredients in a large mixing bowl, using a wire whisk:

• 1 quart chicken stock
• 1 cup melted margarine
• 1 ¼ cup beaten eggs
• ½ teaspoon black pepper
• 1 ½ tablespoon sage
• 2 teaspoons Kosher salt
• 2 cups ¼-inch diced celery
• 2 cups ¼-inch diced onion

Step two:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Tear each burger (only 20 mini burgers needed) into six pieces and place into stage 1 mixture.
3. Gently fold the burger pieces into the mixture using a rubber spatula (be careful not to over mix).
4. Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with non-stick spray.
5. Pour stuffing mixture into the baking pan.
6. Bake un-covered for 35-45 minutes

Note: Allow the stuffing to "rest" for five minutes before serving.

The stuffing recipe will be printed on special-edition steamer pack boxes that will be available in Krystal restaurants starting November through the holiday season. Guests are encouraged to call their local Krystal to ensure availability.
