Krystal to celebrate National Lemon Juice Day

Social media users can win a free Krystal Lemon Cream Pie Milkshake.

In honor of National Lemon Juice Day on Aug. 29, The Krystal Company is inviting customers to share their admiration for the milkshake on social media and will be entered to win a complimentary Lemon Cream Pie Milkshake, according to a company press release.

To participate in the contest, customers are asked to snap a picture of themselves drinking the Lemon Cream Pie Milkshake and post the image on their Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #KrystalLemonCreamPie. Entries will then be selected at random to win a free shake courtesy of Krystal.

The Lemon Cream Pie Milkshake is a blend of Minute Maid Lemonade and vanilla ice cream. According to the release, the beverage has strong Southern roots and is inspired by a family recipe from Georgia native Alice Crowder, vice president of marketing at The Krystal Company.

"When I think of summer I think of my momma's Lemon Ice Box pie recipe," Crowder said. "The same flavors are found in the Lemon Cream Pie milkshake and it instantly puts a smile on my face. When people taste the shake I'm sure it will do the same!"

Krystal more than 350 locations in 11 states, all exclusive to cities in the South.
