Leadership changes continue at Quiznos with new CEO, CFO

July 15, 2016

The leadership changes are continuing at Quiznos. Just about a month after President and CEO Doug Pendergast resigned a year into his position, the former CFO who was appointed interim president and CEO, Katie Scherping, has left the company. As a result, this week Quiznos has moved one of its key marketing leaders into the CEO's office, and at the same time, elevated a member of its finance team to the chief financial officer's job.

The brand's new chief executive is Susan Lintonsmith, who joined the company four years ago as chief marketing officer, and after having success in re-energizing the brand's store-level growth, she was promoted to global chief marketing officer. In that role, Lintonsmith was key in opening the Chinese market to the brand and initiating the opening of Quiznos Grill, the company's premium sandwich fast casual concept.

"During her tenure, Susan has consistently translated menu and marketing innovation into operational value," said Quiznos Chairman Doug Benham in a news release.

Quiznos also named Christina Maxwell as its chief financial officer. Maxwell joined the company as senior vice president of finance and accounting four years ago. She has more than 20 years of experience in financial analysis, strategic planning and process flow improvements. She replaces former CFO and interim President and CEO Katie Scherping, who is leaving the company for another opportunity, according to a news release.

"On behalf of the board, we thank Katie for her leadership throughout the financial transition of our business over the last several years," said Benham.
