Burger King's Leicester Square location in London has gone entirely vegan until April 10 to determine if there's a demand for fully vegan locations, according to a VegNews.com report.

The store will feature the brand's Plant-Based Whopper, its Vegan Royale and a full menu of vegan options, including a kids menu. Newly-launched menu items include the Japanese-inspired Vegan Katsu Royale and the Plant-Based Katsu Chilli Whopper.

Burger King said all items will be vegan during the test run, but are not certified and do not carry the vegan trademark.

"We're incredibly proud of our new meat-free menu," Katie Evans, Burger King UK chief marketing officer, said in a statement. "It absolutely delivers on big taste with no compromises and reflects our ongoing commitment to serving our customers a diverse and innovative range of products."

Burger King launched its first plant-based item with the Impossible Burger in the U.S. in 2019. Since then, it has launched plant-based and vegan items around the world.

"The limited-edition menu is a direct result of our focus on vegan and plant-based innovation and goes hand in hand with our target of a 50-percent meat-free menu by 2030, as well as our commitment to sustainability and responsible business," Evans said in the release. "We can't think of a more fitting way to re-launch our new-look flagship in Leicester Square."
