As part of its attempt to sharpen its marketing focus and turn sales around in the US, McDonald's has named its first-ever vice president-customer officer. According to Ad Age, Fred Ehle will report to CMO Deborah Wahl and will be "focused on customer insights to engage with customers in a more powerful and relevant manner."
Wahl was hired in March and formerly worked for PulteHomes, also Ehle's former employer. Her focus has been on demographic more than product, the story said, including millennials and families.
McDonald's also recently named Julia Vander Ploeg as its first US VP-digital. She reports to Atif Rafiq, the company's first digital officer, who joined McDonald's in October.
