McDonald's delivers good mornings with new campaign

McDonald's unveils a new integrated advertising campaign: "Good Morning Bay Area."

March 11, 2016

McDonald's unveiled a new integrated advertising campaign, "Good Morning Bay Area," which captures real Bay Area residents as they are unexpectedly surprised with a McDonald's breakfast served by restaurant employees, according to a company press release.

Developed and led by creative advertising agency H&L Partners, the "Good Morning Bay Area" campaign consists of a 30-second broadcast spot filmed in locations across the Bay Area. After attending an open casting call, employees were chosen to participate in the filming. They delivered Egg McMuffin sandwiches and McCafé coffee to unsuspecting residents in real situations.

"The idea behind this campaign was simply to put a smile on the faces of busy, on-the-go Bay Area residents," said Chris Cronin, VP, group account director of H&L Partners. "The delight of a hot cup of McCafé coffee and a warm Egg McMuffin reminds customers  McDonald's breakfast is iconic and delicious and a great way to start your morning."

"The Good Morning Bay Area campaign was a great way for our restaurant crew to engage with the community and brighten people's mornings," said Nick Vergis, local McDonald's owner/operator. "The genuine excitement and happiness generated, as a result of this campaign, is something we strive for in our stores every day."

The commercial will air through April 3 on TV stations throughout the Greater Bay Area.
