A $2 million lawsuit against a McDonald's restaurant in Virginia has been settled for an undisclosed amount.
According to the Miami Herald, a Florida man sued the restaurant in 2005 accusing employees of serving him a chicken sandwich that exploded with hot grease.
Frank Sutton claimed he suffered burns to his mouth and lips after biting into the sandwich.
The lawsuit was dismissed in 2008 by a local court, but was brought back by a federal appeals court for a second trial before finally being settled.
This isn't the first time McDonald's has felt the heat in court. Earlier this summer, a Chicago-area woman sued the restaurant for serving hot chocolate that allegedly burned her daughter.
A Texas woman brought forth a similar suit in 2007, claiming McDonald's failed to warn her that coffee is served hot after she spilled the drink in her lap.
