McDonald's launches online gift card giveaway

McDonald's has launched its "Gift-fest" promotion, featuring 21 days of opportunities to win American Express Gift Cards and McDonald's Arch Cards.

From now through Dec. 22, participants can enter online at mcdgiftfest.com for a chance to win great prizes including $20,000, $5,000 and $500 in American Express Gift Cards and $20 McDonald's Arch Cards.

"In the spirit of giving and spreading some holiday cheer, we are thrilled that American Express is providing American Express Gift Cards for 21 Days of Gift-fest to make this a fun and truly memorable season for our customers, especially at the holidays when a little extra can go a long way," said Tracy Stockard, senior director of marketing, in a news release.

Guests can participate in Gift-fest in the following ways:

• In restaurants: Select McDonald's holiday-themed packaging will contain a QR code and web address, mcdgiftfest.com, which directs individuals to theGift-fest website to enter the daily sweepstakes. No purchase is necessary to participate or win.
• Online: From now through Dec. 22, participants can enter to win at mcdgiftfest.com. 
• Social Media: Throughout the promotional window, fans are invited to join in online by following McDonald's Facebook page and @McDonalds on Twitter, using the #GiftFest hashtag.
