McDonald's is kicking off Women's History Month by announcing its first U.S. franchisee recipient of its Global Three-Legged Stool Award — Atlanta-based owner/operator Vicki Chancellor, according to an email from a company spokeswoman.
The award recognizes franchisees, suppliers or employees who've gone to great lengths to support their communities by creating "feel-good" moments for the public and reflecting the company's core values. In fact, Chancellor is also the first person of color to receive the award and the second woman to chair the McDonald's National Franchisee Marketing Committee.
McDonald's said Chancellor was a creative business leader, who has played a key role in several national McDonald's marketing programs over the past year, including the Thank You Meals program and the Famous Orders platform. The company credited her with helping to lead it through "one of the most uncertain and challenging periods" in restaurant history.
