McDonald’s sets up shop in Silicon Valley

June 16, 2014

McDonald's may be expanding its R&D process outside of the kitchen. Tech Crunch reported that the chain has opened an office in San Francisco's tech-heavy Tenderloin neighborhood for the creation of digital products.

The company has hired engineering veterans from PayPal, Facebook AOL and Yahoo, the story said, to boost its digital presence.

A spokesperson from McDonald’s said:

We want a presence in the heart of the tech community enabling us to attract world-class talent. Being in this epicenter will also help us establish key relationships in the digital space.
