McDonald's is currently testing a Cheddar Bacon Onion Angus Burger and Cheddar Bacon Onion Premium Chicken Sandwich in South Florida markets.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, McDonald's restaurants in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties have been selling the new items since mid-March. They are being considered for potential national rollout.
The sandwiches retail for $4.49 and can be ordered with a one-third-pound Angus beef patty, fried/crispy chicken or grilled chicken. They are served on a bakery-style bun along with hickory smoked bacon, two slices of cheddar cheese, grilled onions and a creamy mustard sauce.
According to the article, the tests run through the end of this month. Pam Williams, from the McDonald's Menu Innovation Team, told the publication that South Florida has a dynamic, diverse marketplace for such trial runs.
McDonald's first introduced its Angus burger line to the U.S. in 2009 after about two years of testing in Southern California, Central Ohio and New York markets.
