McDonald's ups double cheeseburger price

November 25, 2008

The Chicago Tribune: McDonald's has officially raised the price of its double cheeseburger to the recommended price of $1.19 beginning Dec. 1, moving the sandwich off the chain's value menu. In its place, the company will offer the McDouble, with two patties but only one slice of cheese.

Since the introduction of the dollar menu in 2002, the cost of ingredients and commodities have soared, forcing the move.
