Since about half of McDonald's company-owned stores hires are between 16 and 24, the chain is putting out its call for 250,000 summer hires on the same channel this age group uses to communicate, namely Snapchat.
According to CNBC, McDonald's has eased the application process for Snapchat users who can apply through the Snapchat app in the U.S. McDonald's told CNBC that Snapchat users will encounter 10-second video ads in which current restaurant employees talking about at the restaurant. A quick swipe on the mobile screen takes viewers to the McDonald's career page within Snapchat, where they can apply for jobs at local restaurants.
The 250,000 hires are part of the brand's overall reincarnation effort, which also includes the installation of self-service kiosks, table service, and delivery via Uber in some parts of the country. The chain expects 3,500 stores to offer delivery by the end of this month.
