Nathan's Famous has hired former Subway Vice President/North America James Walker as the brand's senior vice president/restaurants. At Subway, Walker oversaw all U.S. and Canadian franchised stores, a news release said.
Walker brings more than 30 years of senior-level management experience to the hot dog-focused chain at brands like Baja Fresh, Cinnabon and Johnny Rockets, along with his most recent role at Subway.
"I'm thrilled to join Nathan's Famous, a truly iconic brand that started on the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues in Coney Island and is now a global player in the restaurant and retail spheres," Walker said in the release.
The certified franchise executive holds a master's degree in business administration from Duke's Fuqua School of Business and was awarded the President's "E" award from President Obama for Excellence in Furthering American Business Internationally.
