Got a great idea for redesigning or reworking your restaurant space? No need to call in the architect or interior design team just to test it out. A new augmented reality app called Mogogo now makes it possible to move things around and try out a redesign idea without physically doing much of anything.
The Mogogo app allows customers to "virtually" install large stations at their restaurant sites without ever having to call in a physical sample of the item. Then, within the app, you can edit and share captured scenes, as well as quickly adjust dimensions and placement to create a scaled visual of your reimagined space.
Like all augmented reality applications, the power of the program lies in its ability to superimpose computer-generated images over live camera views of things already existing in the physical world. As a result, users get a composite picture of how things they desire might actually look, if executed.
Augmented reality's use is growing rapidly, particularly in fields like health care and architecture where the technology allows people to view more accurate depictions of what often costly and cumbersome changes may ultimately look like in a space.
The Mogogo app is attached to the brand of the same name that many in food service turn to for design and development of food and beverage stations. It was developed by Bauscher Hepp Inc, which will introduce it to the restaurant industry at the upcoming NRA show in Chicago.
