A McDonald's restaurant in Dickinson, N.D., is offering $300 signing bonuses for prospective employees.
The move comes as North Dakota's unemployment rate hovers around 3.4 percent, the lowest in the nation, according to Businessweek. The state has been experiencing the benefits of an oil boom.
The HuffingtonPost reported that these types of incentives aren't uncommon. In the late 1990s, Burger King managers received a $5,000 signing bonus in a handful of cities, to woo them away from other QSRs.
Banks and other businesses have also started guaranteeing signing bonuses for new hires.
