NRA conference to cover restaurant technology trends

August 19, 2013

The National Restaurant Association's new Restaurant Innovation Summit is set for Oct. 23 and 24 in Denver, and will explore emerging technology and the customer experience.

During the event, the NRA's senior vice president, Research and Knowledge, Hudson Riehle will share information on challenges and opportunities related to that technology. The sessions are designed for various departments, including marketing, information technology, finance and operations.

Riehle's presentation will include information from the new NRA report, "Restaurant Industry 2020: A Snapshot of the Future." The report finds that mobile and pay-at-table options will continue to grow, and online/mobile ordering will also become commonplace.

"Restaurateurs will be looking for efficient and effective ways to satisfy guest demand to conveniently order and pay for their food," Riehle said. "At the same time, they will need to retain a personal touch to stand out from competitors and maintain loyalty."
