Of twisted dogs and magical milkshakes: 2 brands 'LTO' up for summer

Sonic Drive-In has always been a little different; now its dogs are getting "twisted," too. A news release said that the chain is bringing back pretzel dogs as a summer LTO. 

"For 64 years, guests have been coming to Sonic to experience evolving and iconic menu items, including pretzel dogs, the distinctive twist of classic flavors and current culinary trends," Sonic Vice President of Product Innovation and Development Scott Uehlein said in the release. 

Pretzel dogs are available in cheese-y bacon or original, with a warm pretzel bun.  

Meanwhile, Burger King has  introduced a new Lucky Charms Shake featuring vanilla soft serve, sweet syrup and that "magically delicious" oat cereal and tiny colored marshmallows. 

"Our guests can't get enough of our cereal shakes, so we've extended the platform to include the Lucky Charms Shake," Burger King North America President Alex Macedo, said in the release.

"For over 60 years we have been serving delicious hand-spun milkshakes — and now for the first time, we've partnered with Lucky Charms cereal. The mashup of our velvety vanilla-flavored soft serve and one of America's classic breakfast cereals is something we think our guests are going to love."
