Ohio State signs Tim Hortons as official coffee sponsor

July 12, 2012

The Ohio State University has one of the largest fan bases in the country, and Tim Hortons is now in a position to gain plenty of exposure from that base as the Buckeyes' coffee sponsor.

According to Columbus Business First, Tim Hortons signed on to be the OSU athletics' official coffee sponsor through 2017.

The chain's U.S. operations are headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, just north of OSU's Columbus campus.

Tim Hortons signed on for exclusive pouring rights at OSU athletic venues in 2011, but this new deal marks the first year of full sponsorship. The company's coffee and hot chocolate will be served at Ohio Stadium, the Jerome Schottenstein Center and Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, in addition to other venues throughout campus.

As part of the deal, Tim Hortons also will sponsor the Coffee with the Coach program, which allows fans to ask head football coach Urban Meyer questions through radio and TV programming.
