About 250,000 signatures made their way onto a Change.org petition asking Dunkin’ Donuts to end its use of polystyrene cups by April 2015. According to the Boston Business Journal, students from Park School in Brooline, Mass., facilitated the signature drive and they are meeting with the brand’s executives today to discuss alternative cups.
Dunkin’ spokeswoman Michelle King told the publication that the company pledged in June 2013 that it would roll out an alternative to foam cups nationwide within two to three years, and the company remains on track toward that goal.
