Pollo Campero adds two new US locations

June 9, 2016

Pollo Campero opened new U.S. restaurant locations this spring in Charlotte, North Carolina and the Bronx, New York, as well as a one abroad, in Quito, Ecuador.

The 45-year-old chain also announced 9.6 percent same-store sales growth this April, even though industry reports indicated a slight decrease for all chains over the same period, according to a company news release. The chain aims to double its number of U.S. locations over the next few years.

"We have come a long way since 1971, and we celebrated this ... by growing our family with new restaurant openings," said Pollo Campero President and CEO Tim Pulido. "It's been 45 years since we opened our first restaurant, but the same passion, dedication and care we put into each of our recipes are still present. Preserving these core values, as well as our original flavors, are what have made Pollo Campero so successful."

The company attributes much of its recent growth to its millennial customer base which is attracted to Pollo Campero's Latin roots. The brand's managers are investigating technology to help boost sales by improving customer convenience. It has a new mobile app and online ordering in testing aimed at simplifying and speeding up the ordering process.
