Popeyes announces plan to open more than 1,500 locations in China

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc. announced today a plan to open more than 1,500 restaurants in China over the next 10 years. The franchise  has more than 3,100 locations in more than 25 countries, according to a press release.

"We're very excited to grow the Popeyes brand in the Chinese market," Josh Kobza, COO of Restaurant Brands International parent company of Popeyes, said in the release. "We look forward to bringing our great tasting chicken, biscuits, sides and beautiful new restaurants to our guests in China with our partner, TFI TAB Food Investments."

Popeyes is the last of RBI's three brands to enter China, which also include Burger King and Tim Hortons, according to the release.
