Popeyes' rolls out Garlic Pepper Wicked Chicken

January 31, 2012

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, a division of AFC Enterprises Inc., has added a twist to its popular Wicked Chicken with the launch of the new Garlic Pepper Wicked Chicken.

Now through Feb. 19, Popeyes will offer the Garlic Pepper Wicked Chicken with Cajun fries, a buttermilk biscuit, Garlic Pepper Parmesan Dipping Sauce and a mini bottle of Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce for $3.99.

Garlic Pepper Wicked Chicken features roasted garlic and black pepper flavors. Like the original Wicked Chicken offering, Garlic Pepper Wicked Chicken is thin strips of tender, all-white meat chicken marinated with Louisiana seasonings, hand-battered and breaded in the restaurants and served crispy.

To heighten the garlic pepper flavor, Popeyes also has introduced a new creamy Garlic Pepper Parmesan Dipping Sauce.

"Popeyes fans have experienced, and loved, the crazed Wicked Chicken for the past two years, and the success of the product sparked the idea to expand on the flavor varieties," said Dick Lynch, chief global brand officer. "Popeyes has the culinary heritage, passion and ability to take an already unique product in Wicked Chicken and make it even better with the new and exciting flavors of garlic and pepper in both the chicken and the dipping sauce."
