Popeyes turns up the heat with Ghost Pepper Wings

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is keeping things warm this winter with its newest LTO – Ghost Pepper Wings.

According to a news release, the wings are marinated for 12 hours in a blend of peppers, then battered and breaded in Southern-style coating and fried. Six wings are served with the brand's buttermilk biscuits and buttermilk ranch dipping sauce and are available for $3.99.

Ghost Pepper Wings are also offered as a combo meal or a 12-piece offer.

The brand officially unveiled its new Louisiana-inspired limited time offer at the inaugural Popeyes Bahamas Bowl in Nassau, Bahamas, and via social media.

"These are wings as only Popeyes can make them with a bold, spicy flavor that hearkens back to our Louisiana culinary heritage," CMO Hector Munoz said in the release. "At Popeyes, we know that we set the culinary standard for bone-in chicken and new flavor adventures. Ghost Pepper Wings are another example of Popeyes leading the way in innovation, quality and value. We know our guests are going to love them."

Ghost Pepper Wings are available through Jan. 25.
