Pork stars in Hardee's breakfast offerings

Hardee's announced this afternoon that it's angling to cash in on Americans' love affair with  all things pork-related, as well as a breakfast on the run with its Aporkalypse burrito and biscuit offerings. 

The $3.99 burrito combines ham, sausage patties and bacon inside folded eggs, American and Swiss cheese inside a flour burrito, a news release said. The $3.79 biscuit has the same three pork offerings, along with the eggs and cheese, only all the components are inside a buttermilk biscuit. 

"As you might imagine, the idea (is) for a breakfast biscuit and burrito called the Aporkalypse — that would end all breakfast biscuits and burritos," Hardee's CMO Brad Haley said in a news release. "We tested various combination(s) of eggs, cheese and pork and found that the version our customers liked the most had it all: ham and sausage and bacon." 

The burrito and biscuit may come as part of combo meals with hash rounds and a drink.
