Burger King and Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen franchisee GPS Hospitality, has appointed QSR veteran Michael Lippert to the position of chief operating officer, according to a news release. Lippert has more than 30 years of experience in the quick service restaurant industry. In his new role, he will oversee, develop and set direction for day-to-day operations and marketing for GPS Hospitality as the company expands.
"Michael's strategic thinking and proven ability to deliver results make him the perfect person for this role," said GPS Hospitality CEO Tom Garrett. "Michael and I have worked together for many years, and I know him to be an accomplished and passionate leader who will be an invaluable asset as we continue to accelerate our growth."
Lippert has held leadership positions at Captain D's Restaurants, Arby’s Restaurant Group and RTM Restaurant Group. Most recently, he served as national food services vice president at Pilot/Flying J Travel Centers.
"GPS Hospitality's exponential growth is inspiring and I couldn't be more excited to join the team," Lippert said in the release.
In less than four years, GPS Hospitality has grown to manage 231 locations of the Burger King and Popeye's chains in the eastern half of the country.
